The Kingdom Come Series Book Reviews
I have the pleasure of being on Brandy Ange's ARC team for her upcoming release of Abolition! Today starts a giveaway for the third book in this 4-book series, which I'm currently reading to help with the launch next week on June 1st!!
Once I was accepted onto the team, I quickly dove into the world of Achaia and her angels versus demons world. Today as I share the giveaway, I am excited to bring you a quick review of the first two books in the series in preparation for Abolitions release!
For centuries since The Fall, Shael has carried the stigma of being responsible for the disgrace of the Nephilim. When he disappears, that burden falls on his daughter, Achaia, who he kept ignorant of the spiritual world, to keep her safe. Now, not only does Achaia have to come to grips with a whole new reality that rips her mundane world apart, but she also has to determine where she can place her trust. In the spiritual world it is choose or be chosen, but allegiance must be pledged. When it’s not just her life on the line, but her father’s as well, Achaia’s options are less than ideal. Forced to choose between angels who want nothing to do with her, and demons who want too much, it’s tempting to just let fate decide.
And additionally, Penance:
In this second installment to The Kingdom Come Series, Achaia and her friends have to determine once and for all where their loyalties lie. But when angels begin to look just as nefarious as demons, that decision is harder than ever to make.
Transgression introduced Achaia as she and her father move to New York, where he is gone for long stretches of time, only returning with mysterious wounds he won't explain. At a new school, she finds herself surrounded by an unexpected group of teens, all who know a secret about her that her father has never revealed. Achaia is half human, half Nephilim.
As a creature of Devine power with a human's ability for choice, Achaia is a hot commodity in the spheres of angels and demons. Achaia struggles to wrap her head around not only creatures she didn't know existed, but a religion her father had kept her from. He hoped her lack of knowledge would protect her. Instead, it proves a dangerous Achilles heel.
Transgression is a beautiful debut into the Kingdom Come universe. As soon as the last page closed, I was already reaching for Penance, the next book in the series. I highly recommend this for fans of urban fantasy who love angels, demons, and a respectful twist on Christian lore.
Penance is book two in the Kingdom Come Series and we start off back in New York, but not for long. The demons have caught up to Achaia and Lucifer collects her for his own.
As the Nephilim on Earth struggle to find Achaia, she is subjected to Luc's charm as he works to bend her to his side. Though Achaia remains strong, Hell still carves deep scars into our main character, and makes her decisions harder to bear.
Penance is a beautiful continuation of the Kingdom Come Series. We see more of the Nephilim world and how it's crumbling on Earth, and even catch more glimpses into Heaven as the team works to locate and rescue Achaia.
This novel ends on what feels like a cliff hanger, though the story arc is complete. We're left knowing Achaia has been deeply wounded by the events of the story, and I, for one, am desperate to continue the story to see what this strong girl decides to do.
Thankfully, Abolition is nearly here! And that brings us to the giveaway! First to know, the contest is being held on Instagram, so the links below will redirect you to the right place.
Brandy Ange @vagabee is giving away a free booboo copy of her new release Abolition which releases July 1st! Don’t miss this opportunity to join The Kingdom Come Series Fam! The only thing wrong with the book is the corner of the cover was bent a little. But her loss can be your gain!

The world is at war.
Panic and distrust are dissolving the world into smoke and rubble. As if the conflicts of men weren’t destructive enough, their guardian angels, the Nephilim, are simultaneously straining to defend humanity from a spiritual onslaught of demons.
The Nephilim Council is perilously divided as its secrets continue to spill into the light, leaving the world more vulnerable than ever.
Lucifer, driven mad by despair and desperation, is reckless in his pursuit of Achaia, his last link to his beloved friend. Willing to shake the very foundations of the earth for access to her power, he will stop at nothing to claim her for his own.
When the darkest secret of all is revealed, shock and fear ripple through the Remnant. The faithful Nephilim scramble to unite as they struggle to fight a war on two fronts: not only against demons, but within their own race as well.
About the Author
(Bio collected from her author website. Photo from Instagram)
Author Brandy Ange or as her friends like to call her, Bee, was raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, which wasn’t really anything like the Netflix show. She spent most of her childhood running rampant barefoot around the beach, building forts in the woods with her best friend Michael, and rescuing tadpoles. In second grade she fell in love with the Frog and Toad books, which sparked in her a love for reading, and of writing fan fiction. In middle school she moved up into the world of Harry Potter Fan Fiction. In high school when she took her first creative writing class, she dove into the world of original poetry and short stories.
Bee attended Johnson University in Knoxville TN, where she studied film, business, and Bible. During her time in the mountains, she challenged herself to try to write something longer than a short story, and began work on her first book; which quickly turned into The Kingdom Come Series. In 2017 she published her debut novel, Transgression, and has been working on building the KCS universe ever since.
Bee joined YouTube in 2021 to share her love of writing and reading with a community when she left her day job to write full time. Working from home or on the road is no sacrifice for this introvert, but she does love to interact with her readers and viewers as much as possible!
In the future Bee hopes to write many more books surrounding the beloved Kingdom Come Series cast. She also has some other series in mind for her YA readers. Non-fiction books have also become one of her passions, for a more working-adult audience. Exciting things are on the horizon for this island girl!
