I'm excited to be part of the book tour for Journaling Power: How To Create The Happy, Healthy Life You Want To Live by Mari L. McCarthy run by WOW! Women on Writing book tours. When this opportunity came through my email, I was happy to join in as my own personal growth journey has kicked into high gear over the last few months. I've tried strategies recently that I hadn't considered before, such as mindfulness meditation.
Journaling, for me, has been a return to an old love. Through my teens and younger twenties, journaling helped me through so much angst that comes with growing pains. Of course, stopping something can be so easy, so that part of my life faded away.

Journaling actually helped me tap into the lessons of mindfulness by eliminating some of the thoughts floating around attempting to distract my brain from the focus I was trying to attain.
Journaling Power is an excellent resource to add to your collection of guides on self-awareness and mental health. The exercises and anecdotes provided help give a telling and heartfelt introduction to the healing power of journaling. Mari doesn't go terribly deep into the science or the reasons behind why things work the way they do, so if you're looking for more in-depth brain science and psychology, there are other books that focus on that aspect.
