Book Review: The Queen and the Powerful Pendant
Happy August! How have your summer adventures been going? I happen to have an adventure for your imagination! Last summer, I reviewed The Panther Tales, the first book in The Watchers and the Gifted Ones series. This summer, I've been granted an advanced reader copy of book two in the series, The Queen and the Powerful Pendant! The release date for this September 2022, giving you time to catch up with the series.
About the Book
‘All she needs to do is to believe in herself and a panther called Parky.'
Hannah's quest continues as she battles the dark underworld of the watchers with an imaginary Queen and her power pendant of a panther. In this, the sequel of The Panther Tales Trilogy.
After her adventure in the States, Hanna returns home to Ashby-by-the-Sea, England. The looming castle near her home has housed the Great Gifted Nickolous, the leader of The Watchers, and they have plans to steal the Gifted Ones powers of light and imagination once and for all.
Hannah must put her faith in the Great Star and find patience in waiting during this battle between dark and light.
What I love best about these novels is how the power of the Gifted Ones' imagination calls to my younger self. I love the image of being able to take a treasured toy or work of art and have it not only come to life, but be true friends who can help us fight our battles in every day life. This story is told by a narrator, leaving lots of scenes where I would have preferred a more immersive experience, though we are still able to understand Hannah's path and the challenges she faces.
This book ends on a cliffhanger, and it will be interesting to see how the trilogy unfolds!
About the Author
In 2017, Daniella was challenged by her son Bertie, to write a book.
A creative talent, she studied ath the London College of Fashion in the early 1990's and later took up acting, leading to supporting television roles as well as stage and voiceover work.
It was her sheer determination and 'Panther Passion' in meeting the challenge set that began a journey in understanding the power of believing in oneself.
Living in 'Adorable Ashby' as she famously calls her hometown in the UK, the author is married to Nicholas and the family split their time between the US and the UK. She busies herself not only with the ongoing series of The Panther Tales, among other literary and audible adventures, but also her dog Walter, family and friends.
